Finally, the feature I was waiting for months, is finally here. Now, I am gonna get tons of notifications. Jesus, I can’t handle the happiness of Dislike Button. Let’s downvote.
Did You Know?
Facebook’s ‘Like’ button used to be the ‘Awesome’ button.
Actually, it’s called Downvote
Let me first clear out the things. This new feature from Facebook is actually called “Downvote” instead of “Unlike”.
So, what’s the difference between them? Simply, Dislike means a feeling of distaste. You don’t like the post and you just simply dislike it such that the dislike counter adds the count and subtracts your goodness (EVIL LAUGH). Anyway, Dislike is no less evil than Haha Reacts.
However, downvote actually lets you hide comments from the posts. Additionally, it also lets you flag or report the comments as “Offensive”, “Misleading”, and “Off Topic”. Lol — “Off Topic” option won’t go easy on the unnecessary jokes from the comments.
Why no Dislike Button?
The most requested feature “Unlike”, especially for the revenge, would not arrive in Facebook neither at present nor in future.
Even the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg gave gestures on this issue:
“We didn’t want to just build a Dislike button because we don’t want to turn Facebook into a forum where people are voting up or down on people’s posts. That doesn’t seem like the kind of community we want to create.”
As per the statement, it sounded like the dislike button, if launched, may produce hatred and even the war:P among users on Facebook.
Instead, Facebook launched the Reactions where you could respond to posts or comments with several emoji’s.
Not so long ago, Facebook also launched the Reaction feature in Messenger which works same as stated before.
“We are not testing a dislike button. We are exploring a feature for people to give us feedback about comments on public page posts. This is running for a small set of people in the U.S. only.”, says Facebook.
